Ubaidullah al-Khaulini reported: 'Uthman b. 'Affan said: …I have heard from the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saying: He who built a mosque for Allah, the Exalted, Allah would build for him a house in Paradise. (Sahih Muslim Book 004, Hadith Number 1084.)

As-Salaam ‘Alaikum.
May the peace and blessings of Almighty Allāh (swt) be with us all. On behalf on the Trustees of the Dar Al-Muttaqeen Association Ltd, and the members of the surrounding Islāmic communities here in Ocho Rios, St Ann, Jamaica, West Indies, I convey to you all their warmest greetings of peace and implore Allāh’s mercy for your prosperity.
Dar Al-Muttaqeen Association Ltd. is a registered non-profit organisation under the Companies Act of Jamaica (Co. No. 114020). It is managed by a Committee
For many years the local community was served by, Masjid Al Hikmah, which was located in a rented accommodation at 86 Main Street, Ocho Rios, St Ann. In November 2012, the community was required to return the building back to its owner, leaving it without a Masjid and Muslims having to travel as much as 30-40 kilometres, or more, to say their Jummah prayers and complete their Islāmic obligations.
Alhamdulliāh, land, free of any financial ties, was donated for the construction of the community’s own building, and, with the aid of donations from local Muslims, the London Islamic Cultural Society, Masjid Omar, Queens Road, Walthamstow, London and individual members of the London Islāmic community we were able to achieve the success you see above. There is still a long way to go hence our appeal for help and contribution to this worthy project.
The completed facility will house a self-contained accommodation; separate prayer areas for men and women; ablution facilities, with modern as well as traditional amenities; office space; mediation centre; a library; and kitchen.
What has been achieved so far is with the help of devoted and dedicated sisters and brothers all over the Island of Jamaica (some brothers making a four hour return home journey to personally participate in digging out solid rocks and the foundation, and help in pouring the concrete foundation).We are now at the standstill because of lack of funds to acquire the necessary building materials and pay hired labourers.
I cannot begin to explain to you how important this base will be to the local and many visiting Muslims to the Island for prayer, marriage, Islamic education and retreat. Many of you know me as a lecturer for over 20 years in the field of Dawah at Mosques and on the university and college circuits in England, I assure you that work is still continuing here in Jamaica to try and revive and propagate the rich Islāmic heritage of Jamaica, which has been buried. It is against that backdrop that I appeal to you all, in the world Islamic community, for your financial and other assistance to construct, tile, furnish and complete our Masjid/Cultural and Education centre.
